CALL TO ORDER:
· Ed called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
· Sgt. Mihalski and 34 members were in attendance.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
· Led by Art Goss.
RECOGNITION OF REAP AWARD WINNER:
· Officer Clint Halbardier was recognized as this quarter's REAP recipient. He was awarded a Roadhouse gift card.
DINNER:
· Members ordered from the menu and received separate checks.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
· The minutes of the 21 October regular meeting were approved as submitted.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT:
· Ed reported that the current and the 2010 Board of Directors met and sketched out a budget for 2010. The new board will introduce it in January.
· Wolf's Memorial Fund: Tabled until next month.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
· Veteran's Day Parade: Jerry reported that Pat Franklin drove her convertible with Ed as a passenger. Tom Ingle drove his truck which pulled a trailer decorated by Nell, Laurie, Tom and Felicia. $34.00 was spent on candy that was handed out to parade onlookers. Jerry and Clarence carried the banner. Jerry encouraged more members to participate next year.
· Blue Santa: Ken reported that the American Legion and Olympia Elementary Student Council will be donating checks to Blue Santa at the December 1 Council Meeting. The items for the Gatti's raffle have been taken care of. The Blue Santa Boxes that have been placed in local business establishments have been receiving gifts. Ken added that he will be picking up applications tomorrow and the party will be at The Olympia Hills Golf Course Clubhouse on December 20th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.
· Randolph BX Gift Wrapping: Mike reported that we will be wrapping gifts from 9am-7pm on December 18th. Felicia is in charge of recruiting volunteers.
· Green Windbreakers: Garry picked up two styles of windbreakers from KD Logo. The cost of each jacket is $16.50 and an additional $10.00 for the logo. If you desire your name on the jacket that will cost an additional $5.00. The second windbreaker appears better made than the first. Garry will go to KD Logo and see if they will provide sample jackets so members can determine the correct size to order.
· Election of 2010 Officers: Lane introduced the slate of officers for 2010. There was no discussion and Leon Franklin (president), Kris England (vice president), Eva Hickman (secretary) and Susy Williams (treasurer) were approved unanimously. Installation will be in December.
POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT:
· Steve reported that there is one police officer opening and they have received 23 application for the job. The test will be administered on Monday and hopefully someone will soon be hired. Brian and Reuben are deployed and Anthony is still out.
· Steve reported that Olympia was hit three weeks ago. They apprehended the individual and a lot of the property was recovered.
· Steve added that Reuben will be returning in April and to please remember him over the holidays!
